Parking tickets are issued as an orange envelope citation. Parking tickets are paid at the police department or city hall during normal business hours. They can also be mailed to either the police department or city hall. Unpaid parking tickets end up in Magistrate Court.

The police department also issues several types of civil citations. Civil citations are usually issued after city hall has initiated civil actions. Civil citations are issued as a white envelope citation which can be paid at city hall. Unpaid civil citations end up in Magistrate Court.

Citations issued on an Iowa Uniform Citation or Complaint form are paid at the Clerk of Court Office (Courthouse). These are the "common" tickets most people are aware of.
