Police Department moves into temporary building.

Forest City is located in north central Iowa and has a population base of approximately 4500. While basically a rural farming community, Forest City is also the home of nationally known Winnebago Industries. Waldorf College, a four year college of approximately 600 students, is also located here.

Located within both Hancock and Winnebago Counties, Forest City is the county seat of Winnebago County. Business hours for the police department are 8am-4pm, Monday through Friday,except holidays.

The police department is dispatched through the Winnebago County Communications Center. Winnebago County Communications is a separate entity comprising representatives of governments within the county. The dispatch center is located in the Sheriff's Department at 216 South Clark.
